imo it’s gonna be tough to get farcaster users to adopt a proof of human/KYC system without financial incentives, i feel like all the solutions require jumping hoops which is doable but personally always bucketed these solutions as things people would only do if financially incentivized

can we just make doing web of trust a lot easier? i feel like WoT has never been really tried in a mobile-first context and i could imagine fun interactive Tinder style UIs being enough to get people to use them

it'll be hard in general, we don't see much growth here since spring and that KYC thing will completely kill it I don't think I'd do it even with all the time I've invested here

Can’t a form of verification like the type when you’re signing up an exchange account like coinbase where they verify your means of identification like a driver’s license or passport(national or international) be one of the options Isn’t it cost free Or will that be difficult Or a Github account or something

I'm skeptical about how useful KYC would be. especially after world coin's debacle, (eyeball sybilling). I think a better way would be to use the invite system to ban entire rings of bots.

If it based on the survey @v organizing, enforcing a kyc is going to lead to loss of customers Coinbase doesn’t even work in some regions, gitcoin passport credentials are out of reach especially for new users that are just onboarded to web3.

This is where my idea for Polvault comes in. Setup a vault. It holds Uniswap liquidity NFTs, and regularly harvests the yield and converts to ETH. Anyone can donate. Distribute the ETH to every address with a qualifying Gitcoin Passport. The recipients of the ETH share equal control of the vault, in order to migrate the liquidity should the need arise. Bam. On chain UBI. A reason to use digital IDs. A true democracy.

This is where FC as a protocol is a superior approach to just standalone social. Web2 companies where verification is part of their operational mandate can run a client. Be it in finance or manufacturing. This has real significance long term to the health and vibrancy of the graph.

we wanted to do just that, using token curated registries for proof of human, a bit heavy on the incentive.. what could go wrong?

can't it be something else like world id or something people are buying passports easily, especially in low gdp countries and expecially scammers
