Farcaster and in particular Warpcast are really well developed platforms. The inclusion of channels is a small but powerful difference from Twitter which suffers from information clutter as a significant weakness. I’m actually surprised no one ever tried to reform Twitter by implementing such a change. I really do hope to see Farcaster grow into a widely used platform because it’s just a superior design. You don’t even really need the crypto aspects of it which can be confusing although they are obviously rewarding in some ways.

I agree. I try to onboard people onto Farcaster but the moment they hear crypto or blockchain they tune out thinking, “oh, that’s not for me.” It’s a shame because this app is excellent at bringing communities together and building genuine connections.

what is the tactical reason they drop? the payment to sign up? or just ideologically opposed to blockchains?

At some point I want to port Farcaster to a Particle Chain (https://breckyunits.com/particleChain.html). Then I think we could really build something new and amazing that appeals to a 100x larger audience and really emphasizes the advantage of blockchain. I took a stab at it this weekend getting my own hub going but don't have the bandwidth right now to prioritize that.
