End-to-end encrypted group chat on /xmtp is now in alpha, available on the dev network, and built on a new messaging foundation. 👉 Docs here: https://xmtp.org/docs/build/groups 👈 It's *early* days, but this upgrade is a massive overhaul to @xmtp that will add capability, security, privacy, and more.

XMTP's next evolution is built on Messaging Layer Security (MLS), a new standard that elevates security guarantees in group messaging. More on the standard here (https://datatracker.ietf.org/wg/mls/about/). In addition to group support, MLS on XMTP will bring forward secrecy, post-compromise security, app keys, more.
