I'm in favor of banning TikTok (or forcing it to spun out to non-CCP affiliated control.

Fentanyl feels like a more complex issue given it's relatively easy to procure precursor chemicals and it's mostly made in Mexico.

Part of me thinks that China is just trying to (and successfully) play the capitalist social media game and of course reap data harvesting benefits in the process, but more concerning is how it seems to be shaping culture and attention spans

To be fair, YouTube et al. (Kick, Rumble) have also played their part in proliferating these trends (prank/property destruction/purposeful bad behavior videos are pretty heinous, like Johnny Somali)
