Definitely arguing with siblings over phone v dialup. Netscape. Any webpage splash image taking minutes to render line by line. Being an IRC mod. Ah, kinda miss irc. Used to think that was toxic and now all these modern platforms say hold my rx

I don’t have high hopes - the late 80s to early 00s were just a magical time in human history - a beautiful blend of analog and digital, of wonder and discovery. We are in stuck culture now, but tech can still be exciting too (AI, etc) but imo we will never recapture that magic
