how do you let go of things when you regard decisions you’ve made as “mistakes”? like the only solution i can come up with is to give it time, but in the present moment i keep running in circles in my head, that things could have gone differently or had a better outcome and i don’t like being in this state of irritation with myself or blaming myself for the way something went, but i also don’t know how to shut up my inner critic

I talk to my inner critic directly and ask it why I should carry guilt and shame for these mistakes. As soon as I confront that voice directly, it weakens and backs down. It can never give me a good answer. I usually do this by going on long walks.
