Sporting clays are usually done on a course, rather than a single range. You get a variety of stands with different angles, elevations, clays, sightlines, etc. I used to pick and cook at Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve and highly recommend it. Family-owned by wonderful folks, and has a real down-home vibe lol. About 1 hour from Sac too.

it's very similar, but the clays are meant to mimic different animals a lot of it is the positioning of the launcher the clay flies over your head from behind, or in from the right etc. usually each "stand" is two clays I really like the rabbits that roll across the ground and bounce
