Now reading. Someone on Warpcast recommended this to me and having started it this morning it seems very promising. Whoever recommended it I’m sorry I forgot but thank you.

That was me, and you’re welcome! I read your blog post and honestly you’re clearly already on top of it, using Anki etc, but this book does a great job of systematising and making it more accessible. The key thing is really being able to trust the system you’re using, because if you don’t then it’s really hard to fully invest in it, which is the only way to succeed. Most people put language learning in the too-hard-basket, because most of their limited class-based experiences with it are embarrassing or anxiety-inducing. Humbling, sure, but more people need to know how fun and not-stressful it can actually be. Anyway, hope you get some useful insights out of it!

Thanks for popping back up I really wanted to thank you for the recommendation. It’s an excellent book he’s giving me some different ideas that I want to build into my own approach. Agree 💯 all you said.

It’s been so long since I’ve read it (I’m not even sure I finished it 😂 I just used it while I was travelling thru Mexico learning Spanish), but when I rave about it to people, I can still remember all the points because they’re so salient
