I used to goto X to find news articles but the suppression of links there and replacement with rambling chatter and scams has been so effective that its become useless as a form of news. There’s an opening for another site that is more egalitarian and does not suppress links to fill the void of the service this once provided. In the meantime might as well get an Apple News subscription.

resumed using X after losing my badge here. The only thing I like is the ease of communication with other users/developers/influencers there are no restrictions on social rating, there are no spam tags and your comments are visible to everyone, you are not hidden under “Show more replies”

I like Threads as a twitter replacement but they purposely are deprioritizing real-time content which makes it annoying for stuff like news

I stopped following mainstream media the time we started writting and sending articless from our club to newspapers. We discovered that they do not accept articles that resemble promotion but they are more than happy to accept paid articles that are obvious self promotion (without stating they are promotion). That time i began to pay more atention to articles and discovered that 90% of them are promoting something. And as all of you stated: even x has become an adverisement and spam platform. Now is up to us to discover sources of our news. I mostly relly on substack and medium articles but i have to put a lot of effort to filter out noise
