Reading about the suicide pod story. Why does the pod have such a jaunty design even including a Carl Sagan quote printed on it? It looks like a character from the cartoon Transformers or a 90s model car. I'd assume it would be black and mournful. People have been traveling to Switzerland to kill themselves in this pod: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/sep/24/several-detained-in-switzerland-over-suicide-capsule-death-police-say

I have no problem with this. Inhaling an inert gas has got to be the best, least painful and most peaceful, way to go. The pod allows you to go out without anything over your face (I.e gas mask) and the windows let you have a view of nature while you do it. Why should it look like the Death Star or a coffin? No one asked to be here, no one should be forced to stay here. Least of all the terminally ill.

I imagine people who are in a place where they yearn for death, a painless vehicle to it would be anything but mournful. But also it's not like it's a public spectacle, so not sure how important the aesthetics are. My first impression is that the chassis maybe got repurposed from something else.

lol @ "Jaunty" It is pretty slick, looks kinda like a sled. If it was menacing looking, customers may have second thoughts on the whole deal... I think the quote takes the bizarro award on this thing though
