A hack is to actually turn off circuits while everyone is sleeping at least. If your heat doesn’t run on it, you don’t need that electricity at all while you sleep!

Yes, or just turn off the wifi in the evening.

I don’t turn off the wifi anymore, but did it for a few years. 

I have a few smart home devices and I think they would automatically reconnect to the system. 

If it’s only to keep the kids from having internet access during the night one could just limit their access or create several networks on the same wifi and just deactivate the one that are used for internet.

What about smart home devices? I wonder how hard it would be to create a secondary, dedicate wifi network just for those.
