My ornithologist cousin told me what I witnessed here is duck sex. You can see it right at the beginning of the video 

He adds 

“What’s interesting is that the female is some derivative of a Muscovy Duck, but the male is a domestic type Mallard. Not even the same species.”

“Is it even possible for them to mate”

“Probably. There are lots of documented hybridizations between ducks, even in the wild.”
