I was an eng manager at Google. These were the best 1:1s:

- report was prepared and had clear agenda shared beforehand
- gave and received feedback very well
- discussed growth opps, OKRs, project next steps
- was transparent and communicated extremely well

When you declare No Deploy Fridays and you get zero calls or escalations over the weekend?
