Objection! Pollard's rho for discrete logarithms is not a cycle finding algorithm, it rather embeds a viable cycle finding algorithm, such as Floyd's. There are more powerful adjustments to Pollard's rho and cycle detection techniques that enable speed ups to the conventional attack
