last year, i started hosting a Topics of Controversy dinner series.

each dinner is anchored around a taboo topic and kicks off with a few thought-provoking questions before we dive into a respectful discussion / debate.

my biggest takeaway? 

people LOVE to learn IRL with and from each other.

we need more of this.

a few things:

1. i set expectations with everyone at the start

2. i also play the role of moderator if it starts to get messy

3. but tbh most of the credit goes to the people sitting around to table; the type of person who opts into these dinners is a person who tries hard to identify emotions and rise above them
