These blocks of time aren't common practice in our always busy and over-scheduled American culture. Do you find ways to incorporate enough of these unstructured blocks of time into your days, weeks or your year? If so, how? If not, why? also, +1 to your experience @eriks 🤝

my active work hours are from 11am to 3pm. that's my busy time + my writing time when I'm working on writing. sometimes I have another hour or two in the evening the rest of the time I'm at home with my husband and my baby, doing stuff — cooking, chores, playground, etc.

but I do a lot of good thinking during that "other time" like if I'm taking my boy and my dog for a walk (and often I also log on, I just can't concentrate deeply with the baby there)

On occasion though, I'll be sitting at the dinner table with the fam and a creative storm arrives or is still ongoing from earlier. My wife will look at me with a knowing smile, "You are not even in the room with us right now." Indeed, lol. 100% head in the clouds
