Kids are 6 & 8 and we are debating between Japan & Costa Rica for a big trip this year Shill me on either one

The kids will probably appreciate Japan when they are a little older unless they are deeply into Pokemon. Costa Rica is awesome but not cheap, and make sure you go to a beach that is kid-friendly. Check to see if the kids are big enough for ziplining.
