OpenNext exists because no one at CloudFlare or SST seem to understand (or want to acknowledge), that Next.js deployed outside of Vercel is a dynamic Node.js app and not a static site with interactive bits. Naturally, you can't just upload it to an S3 bucket and call it a day. Maybe they should just switch to Astro?

I really don’t understand why Next.js and React are so popular… i find so much more enjoyable and organized to use Vue, especially in combination with Astro

I've been working with Astro for a while. Really feels like the ultimate swiss-army knife. Deployments are edge by defaults to cloudflare pages. Didn't look back.

what about deploying to railway.app ? same issues? I had so many issues with Astro. sparse docs, no community. have things changed?

everyone uses next so everyone has to use next echo chamber of some sort my personal preference is astro+solidjs/plain JS or React if I need to use a 3rd party SDK that's React only
