there is an establishment of very questionable quality about two doors down from my apt back home that regularly hosts standup comedy nights and leaves their back door open onto my laneway. as a result, I regularly endure what sounds like pirates—in reality just drunk french canadians—telling jokes over shitty PA speakers for hours on end to lukewarm audience reception. basically sounds like corny standup routines at a bat mitzvah, but with really deep voices and french swear words mixed in. so, could be worse.
