you’d be surprised how far you can go with the iphone camera these days:

proRAW non-destructive workflow
“48MP” output (12MP in reality)
seamless multi-exposure engine to greatly extend DR
smooth HDR mapping
good low-light performance 

really good cameras, though it’s more accurate to think of them as software than hardware at this point since the output doesn’t even vaguely resemble the sensor’s native output.

i always said i’d consider a career in photography again when it could be done all from an iphone, and i think that’s possible now. as long as your lighting is good and you don’t need to push the device past its limits
