in case you were wondering, this is who is talking to normies about crypto wtf are we even doing in this industry if one of the largest film/music festivals in the world would rather invite a bitter skeptic than a well-intentioned representative

I've been in a telegram (crypto) media group chat for a while now, and I can tell that Molly is only the visible part of the skeptical journalism iceberg There's no such thing as a "well-intentioned representative" in the crypto industry because money is ruining objectivity / ethics / morale. And the "skin in the game" bias is a terrible malus.

the claim that a well-intentioned person *doesn’t exist* who can earnestly represent the industry and the ideas being developed here… is ridiculous

I said representative, not person. For example, the very high price to speak on stage doesn't allow normal people to be heard.

eh, I don’t think the work molly is doing is necessarily expensive in order for her to be heard. her twitter account has far larger reach than a talk at SXSW, for example.

She's focusing on what people think about the crypto industry 😶 I'm not a super fan of her work either, but who built "Web3isgreat" with all the greater good success? Not talking about Base adoption or cheap Tx fees, but some kind of "public commons If SXSW is inviting Molly rather than anyone else around, maybe it's because normal people are cautious about crypto tech.
