they are no longer buying, that hype cycle died in 2022 but the appeal back then was 1) limited supply collectible 2) speculative, potential for number go up 3) communities tied together by artwork, pfp becomes part of identity

oh sorry, misread your post @dwr.eth basically my read is that nft projects are issuing fungibles to keep up with the 2023-24 memecoin meta and maintain some relevance. remains to be seen if any of these coins will survive the attention economy, personally I’m doubtful.
