It’s CRAZY to me that even the “nicer” furniture out there is just veneers on some cheaper solid wood core. Restoration Hardware has outlets full of this stuff because the 1/16” veneer is easy to damage leaving you with a big unrepairable piece. Real solid wood doesn’t do this!

Very true. I'm lucky to have heavily nested back when good vintage furniture was still available. 150 yr old mahogany armoires, 200 year old tansu. Still beautiful and functional
