actually wild to me that quebec is allowed to prohibit all public services from being rendered in english even though both english and french are the official languages of the COUNTRY we live in 🫠 🥲 i've lived here 12 years and idt i'll ever get used to it

100000% agree there is very little (if any) Anglo representation in QC politics, municipal or provincial, so the idea that French citizens or culture is threatened here is so beyond twisted. monolingual policies like this will just make more people leave and the only reason QC is able to persist as-is is because of equalization payments from provinces like AB, so this agenda doesn’t seem sustainable long-term to me

yeah, the second legault/CAQ realized they don't need to win the montreal/anglo population to win a majority, they got REAL intense with all the french language laws one of the main things protecting quebec is the production of hydro power, if they didn't have that i have a feeling the federal government would be more involved...or maybe not. it's a mess
