Outside of art, not sure what the point of collecting an NFT is. I've talked about this privately with a bunch of people but surprised it's not discussed more publicly.

should note that an nft you receive as a receipt of doing something else (buying a ticket, subscribing to something, etc...) makes more sense. talking about going to an nft page and hitting "collect" or "mint"

this is a thing that bugs me too. It's just a data structure that has all this branding and identity foisted upon it, and a lot of those promises ring hollow for any number of reasons, ie royalties are really optional donations. The reality is that NFTs should fade to the background in the same way that a row is a DB is doesn't matter to an end user beyond it showing up. What the users care about is price and identity for collections, not the "nft". Mint/collecting should take a backseat and platforms should rebrand to hide it all as implementation details IMO. You are buying the "art", and even that could be debated without case law to back it up.

I have an agreement in this case , never find out about it's values especially when it's hyped or when the owners make a surprising prices on their pieces

The idea has been commercialized. It was supposed to be a cool concept where you could collect art from your favorite artists or get a VIP ticket for a concert. However, now NFTs are more like a pump-and-dump scheme. It's really sad.
