I was reading about it a bit last week. My tl;dr is: Ethereum wants to replace AWS/Azure/GCloud Urbit wants to replace Linux/Mac/Windows Hoon Lang looks interesting! But… I hate people that want to abbreviate everything to 3-letters. Readability is more important than brevity. Digraphs are not the same as rune

Use-cases are different imo, also trajectories are different. Urbit is a purist solution to an impractical world. Ethereum is a tourist solution to an impractical world, making it a purist solution for practical world.

gna be hard to sell *ships, planets and moons* to normies. i have a hard time understanding it tbh and urbiters seem to have a hard time explaining it IME. still keeping a very keen ear out for how urbit could gain meaningful market share. all i know is its still early, i heard only a few hundred thousand participants?

I don’t think this will be a competition, nor should it be imo — collaboration is how I think it will progress

We don’t need a “new new internet” just need to make the one we have better
