I unfollowed all the huge channels, they don't make sense to me anymore. People should just broadcast into the Main feed and have more thoughtful discussions in channels.

In most cases, I agree with this.

General topic channels don't work well in the new model. They were built an era of channels as hashtags.

There will be some exceptions, but will require a lot of work from the channel owner and moderators to make sure a large channel becomes and stays a community.

Generic channels should be as open as possible and be similar to what default subreddits were like imo

Would be kinda interesting if one day there were “mega channels” that had their own storage and were free for people to cast in too

The challenge is spam. Most people don't have the time / want to do the work required to make them great.

why not just have warpcast algo determine the feed?

1. what about removing the owner entirely? example /founders. There are lot of "founder related" communities (the arena, launch caster, orangedao, etc) but why does there need to be an owner of the topic-based channel?

2. isn't that a problem on every social media feed these days?
