Meetup is mostly an advertising channel for MLMs and other associated enterprises that are trying to recruit under the guise of "meeting up." There are some quality groups, but why wouldn't you run an email list with Eventbrite? Also if it's about the information, why not use Zoom? In-person can be overrated.

I agree with the third point. Many of our spaces are designed such that people reach their goals as fast as possible, which is not good for building relationships. I think that shared ideologies could lead to silos, and that shared values would be a better common ground.
