I don’t understand how someone can have 100k followers on farcaster and get like 20 engagements on a post. Must be a lot of abandoned followers?

initial accounts were hyper inflated with followers due to being put in the autofollow list before, had some autofollows on my account as well

That’s my case. ~120K followers, some of my casts are barely seen, with maybe a handful of likes. I was on the auto follow list for a while, so I’d get followed by bots, or people who signed up but churned pretty quickly. My actual engagement is always with the same circle of roughly 100 familiar PFPs

Ton of fake followers signed up right after they went permissionless. Only after they implemented gift an invite did that number go down. If only the stuck with the qDAU metric…
