They’re great pollinators. You collect their cocoons in the fall to clean and store them, to protect them from parasites and extreme weather. Put them out the following spring and let them do their thing!

this is fascinating. I’ve never heard of harvesting mason bee cocoons. can you please explain why you do this?

Mason bees!

They’re OP pollinators. They lay their eggs in paper tubes we set out in a “house”, and then in the fall we harvest the tubes to collect the cocoons, clean them, and store them until the following spring.

I have to read about mason bee cocoons. Never heard of them.
