This week I am taking a course in culturing mammalian cells, smth different from my traditional PCR lab work. Looking at the world of cells through a microscope today. Pictured is a culture of mouse fibroblast stromal cells

Today we counted cells in an automatic cell counter and in a traditional Goryaev chamber. We stained the cells with trypan blue: living cells are not stained because they have intact membranes

We also visited a cryostorage facility - a bibank, where cell cultures are frozen in liquid nitrogen at a temperature of -196 degrees Celsius
