Hi dear @chronist I’m from Iran and we have a famous proverb: "The mouse couldn't fit into the hole, yet it tied a broom to its tail." 🐭🧹 An English equivalent of this proverb is: "Biting off more than you can chew." It conveys the idea of someone taking on more than they can handle or complicating a situation unnecessarily. lika a creating a bigger problem to solve a small one or offering illogical solutions to simple problems.
