I think a lot of men have repressed anger because there’s not a great way to release it without being judged or hurting someone But anger isn’t far from sadness, which gets released more easily with a good cry

practice noticing you're angry (if you dont notice at the time, reflect afterwards on the signs -as obvious as they may seem) if you notice, ask yourself these 4 questions (if not, reflect on them afterwards) 1. what am i scared of? 2. what am i embaressed of? 3. what are my expectations? 4. what do i need right now?

Probably exercise, have always found boxing to be pretty cathartic, I think runners feel similarly (I don’t run)

ime anger is a symptom that can start to be resolved through a series of acknowledgements on the extent of our sadness as well as accepting how far our responsibilities go for ourselves and others. usually as men, they go pretty damn far. martial arts are great too, also just being a bit more macho takes the steam off

In fact, halfway through her divorce my mums therapist told her to break some dishes in the basement. My mum calls them ‘therapy plates‘
