appreciation

it’s safe to say i’ve successfully created my dream life. externally, everything is almost exactly as i once hoped for and i’m incredibly lucky. but for so long, old trauma made it nearly impossible to relax and enjoy it. it sucks to know how fortunate you are but be unable to feel it, unable to experience the emotional reward of what you’ve built

but that has finally changed. there will always be more inner work, but now, almost all the time, i can actually enjoy what i’ve been given. it’s surreal—i now feel more euphoric and blissful scrubbing toilets than i did in past decades doing things that were supposed to be fun

truly feels like heaven on earth some days
