Generative Design – Julia Laub, 2010 This book documented an emerging scene of artists using a new wave of software(s), such as Processing and VVVV to create generative art. Aside from code examples (which are still relevant) it has large gallery section of artist works. Photo credits: Onformative

I remember this arriving in a French publishing house I was working at at the time and the art director asking me if we should publish a French edition. I was like, "Hell, yeah!" I still think this is one of the best books for those wanting to dip into the domain. Beautifully designed too.

Not to forget the online version too which is a stunning feat in itself. http://www.generative-gestaltung.de/2/

Thanks for the nice side story. It surely was - and remains - one of the best books on generative art and design. It has stood the test of time and still remains current.
