The Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) was such a marvel of software & computer engineering on top of all mech & EE + interdisciplinary engineering it took to make the Lunar Module reach / be able to land on the surface of the moon. Able to handle radar, IMU, display, input, & engine commands - all done in the 1960s

I still find it amazing how in the core memory on the Saturn V, every bit was hand woven

It really opens the mind (after blowing it) to see the concepts of memory and compute don’t actually require silicon. Would you know whether hand weaving had some radiation resistance advantage?
