It's opt-in afaik. But that's not important. What is important is the fact that Ledger (the company) can at any time push a Firmware update to "do something" with your seed phrase. It shouldn't be this way

1) I want this feature
2) firmware gets upgraded to add this feature

Or:
1) firmware gets upgraded to add this feature
2) I choose whether I want to use it. 

If everything in the SE stays the same if I don’t opt in I think I’m okay with this?
