The idea of First Draft Club is to get people to write and share publicly. As someone who suffers from procrastination and perfectionism with writing, I know that things will rarely feel "done". So the framing of first drafts hopefully takes the pressure off people to get their writing out there – nobody is expecting it to be perfect!
