I’ve been thinking a lot about this recently with /firstdraft

To me there’s a difference between posting and publishing. It’s why I let people do a simple cast as their writing – ideally they build up the confidence to share publicly and eventually cross the threshold to publishing.

Yeah I personally am trying to get back in the habit of publishing (vs just posting)

But we’re already part of the 1% (of the 90/9/1 of online engagement) and for most people progress is going to come first from simple posting, not even what we’d consider “writing”

Very interesting... I was surprised when a friend told me this week that she published something online for the first time and it was essentially just a comment and reshare of someone else's post.

Really reminded me that the bar can feel insurmountably high unless you have built up the habit first.
