There's no way to calculate DAU on a protocol that is not live yet @kugusha.eth @ted. The deprecated protocol's DAU is here: https://dune.com/lens/lens-protocol Another important thing - we think DAU is not a correct metric in the context of web3 at such an early stage. We look at interacting users and at the quality such. You can find them in the first section.

More info: - v2 protocol has been deprecated in mid November. People still use it a lot, considering that. And you are right, maybe v2 might be "dead", but that's not what the raise was for - all you had to do is click on the link and read. - Why do people keep using it? simple - we are migrating them and their content without any action required from users, to the new network. This process means lots of work and care on the Lens team end, but results in not losing data and avoiding users to work, or even make a single transaction. It takes 4 weeks.

Pretty sure I don't have to explain this to a defi marketer, but just to clarify why this is an unfair assessment: Dune works on live networks, Lens network (and v3, what you call "the protocol", which is no longer the case) is in testnet. The best way to see a testnet is through its block explorer, which is here: https://block-explorer.testnet.lens.dev/

Incredibly impressed by the new Lens update. I’ve been out of the loop for protocol development for a little while but it seems after almost three years things are finally coming together. While VCs are still larping about composability Lens is once again sprinting ahead of everyone else. Decentralized all the way through. Custom access controls and modular infrastructure that will power not just Lens but consumer apps like Family and others. Plus finally there’s enough room that almost any custom use case or extension can be built with cheap and fast infrastructure that extends beyond one client. stani you guys are five steps ahead of everyone else. So sick to see 🌱📈

gm - Lens Holiday Hackathon, build on Lens, avoid family feuds, have fun and take the new network for a spin, and if that is not enough reward, we do have big prizes in $GHO Judged by the community, onchain on Jokerace. https://x.com/LensProtocol/status/1866547906918191147

Excited to share highlights from @mariapaula's latest blog post about a bustling week in Bangkok! Two product launches dazzled everyone and events like DeFi Renaissance showed the energy of the crypto scene. Market chaos continues with Bitcoin soaring and unique developments happening across the space.

Oh, that's a different thing. But Orb is THRIVING. Slower than bluesky, but its a really good experience. The game is long though.

I think assuming failure at such an early stage is not really a thing. Lens is an immature product still, about to become a network with social features. I agree with you, the bot issue is quite annoying, but honestly, its also bad on Twitter and web2 social at large, we'll have to learn to coexist. There are many cool things about the Lens social features that might poise Lens as a catalyser for real adoption. But we just shipped testnet, too early to tell. As for Bluesky winning, I'm into it. It's good tech and as long as Twitter dies, I'm happy no matter who's the killer.

Lots has happened since I last posted here. TLDR, bullish things happening on Lens - testnet shipped, social features unveiled. Graphs became a primitive, build your own, or leverage the global one. We want to give people freedom and enhance healthy competition. https://x.com/LensProtocol/status/1859196482139853068
