Can anyone explain the logic here? If only luxury goods are being exempted aren't the tariffs basically one of the most regressive tax hikes in history? Also why not give more of a heads up so that the example Cuban provides doesn't happen?

Absolutely and even before the exemptions, they were. Because poor people still buy iPhones and shit.
