Alone, just the mountains and me (and my sister 😅)

I was very much not alone in Italy. People were everywhere. Took quite a few absolutely packed buses too, which was rather horrible.

Why did you travel there if you don’t like masses?

Because of all those things you mentioned, I avoid those places. Even if there’s something beautiful to see, if it’s crowded, noisy, or chaotic, all the beauty fades for me. The stress, the noise, the endless movement, it all makes me feel disconnected from the moment, and instead of soaking it in, I find myself wanting to escape. It’s like the essence of the place gets lost in all the chaos, and I can’t enjoy it the way I would in a more peaceful, open environment.

Well, there were certain places I wanted to see and they were not wilderness. I'm happy that I went and saw some cool places, but they are also places everyone else wants to visit. Also, I didn't think it would be as crowded still in later October on Amalfi. Apparently it's pretty empty in winter there, but then most of the hotels close too. I throughly enjoyed my trip, but not the parts on the buses. 😂 But overall that was a small percentage of the time. My friend's new pixel phone will erase people in the photos, which is actually quite amazing. It was difficult to shoot as there were so many people. We ended up quite late in Herculaneum and were almost the last ones out of there so we had it to ourselves for a while. Which is a big contrast to Pompeii.
