why is “agency” a topic we talk about?

when did we lose it? who took it?

to me agency means:

1) show up
2) be yourself
3) see what happens

Knowing full well I’ve said things like this, still, I am curious

Talked about this here. It’s arguably the scarcest resource in the world and our built environments are taking it from us.

Agency is simply the ability to make decisions “for yourself.”

We acquire it as we become sentient  from birth.

I’d say we lose it as we spend our time in artificial  (man-made) contexts.  Manipulate the context and the messages, manipulate the decisions.
