What do you mean? You can use any scripting language to automate tasks on a hub. Do you mean something that runs in the client?

maybe for some use cases, but not necessarily all use cases. 

hubs already run some specialized functions today like pruning messages to fit storage.

didn't have any strong preferences on implementation details yet. just wanted to explore what kind of things would be possible to build

If hub == the machine where Hubble runs on, I'm 100% in favor of it! For example a mini-neynar I can install on my server, next to Hubble. This would be very cool.

But if you mean extending Hubble to be able to do complex things, I think it's not a good idea.
