Stoicism focuses on changing only what you can control, which imo is a good coping mechanism.

actual stoics believe in determinism and do not distinguish between external and internal events. this is cringe because according to stoic logic everything is fate and *it is what it is* which is a really bad thing to say as we can control lots of things in our lives, and our reactions to various events.

If by actual stoics you mean the original sources, not all "determinism" is made equally.
