Reading Naomi Klein's Doppelganger and Kyle Chayak's Filterworld in quick succession provides a pretty holistic overview of all the impact algorithmically filtered experiences online can have. Filterworld: commodifying, and flattening culture Doppelganger: hollow out humans by turning them into (static) brands, fostering divide Add to that some Byung-Chul Han, Society of the Spectacle by Debord and a little of Baudrillard's concept of Hyperreality and you get a good grasp of why life with Big Tech feels as it does. Any other books you'd recommend falling into that theme?

i'm not sure if this fits your request exactly, but i'd highly recommend reading a classic - baudrillard's "simulacra and simulation" if you haven't already. this book had a big impact on me when i was young
