I don't get the no-risk enshrined LSD. PoS isn't the same without slashing, but more so, at this point, why the extra token? Just give the rewards to every native ETH holder. And then we go back to square one, there is no added value to ETH holders here. What am I missing?

I agree*, but even if we skip this point, enshrined risk-free LSDs still don't make any sense to me.

Staking should always carry some sort of risk, or else it isn't really "stake" right? Risk free ETH holding rewards are already covered by the EIP-1559 burn. Different tokens for different risk profiles seems fine to me.
