Haha I'd not be surprised - vitamins & supplements are a huge in the US. 

The reason it's easier to sell real vitamins (vs. "vitamin software products") is that regular people have no way of finding out if they worked. So you can sell every dream you want and count on placebo effect :)

Funny thing is that I’ve seen stats that show the vitamin/supplements industry is more lucrative than the painkiller one 😂

I think in B2C many successful products that look like vitamins are also painkillers.

E.g., someone uses social media (vitamin) to treat their loneliness (pain). Or buys new designer clothes (vitamin) to feel special (pain).

But there's room for vitamins! In bear market it's just harder to sell them.

my question about the whole "painkiller not vitamin" advice is that vitamins are a gigantic business and relatively low risk / low liability / high margin. Is "painkiller not vitamin" still good advice?

Totally agree. Maybe we are solving some important problems, but stuck on #2 for most and #3 for a few.
