"Don't go to conferences" YC advice might have worked well, but it might be less relevant for crypto. All major tech in the last decades had their gravity centers in Silicon Valley, so you would meet these people anyway. In crypto, we are distributed around the world, and conferences are often the best way to meet.

YCombinator gives lots of awful advice. "Don't go to conferences" is the dumbest fucking advice I could ever imagine. Literally that can be where you meet the majority of your first 30 users. I went to conferences with the founders of many of YC's best companies when they were just getting started. YC also gives lots of great advice. How do you tell which is which? Look for advice that is concise, backed by data, and EASY TO FALSIFY. https://breckyunits.com/advice.html
