If you don't like commuting for 3 hrs, change the job for something's closer to you.

If you can't find a job closer to you, improve your skills so you'll get it.

If there's no jobs closer to you, rent something closer to the office, even if it's smaller.

Same here. Since then I always organized my life in a way that I never commuted to the office for more than 20 minutes. And now I work from home 95% of the time.

I once worked in NYC and had co-workers that regularly commuted on the train 2hrs each way every day for the work… it was depressing to calculate how much of their life was being thrown in the garbage. I vowed never to be in that situation
